Our Story
How the Magic Began
It began with my daughter, Evelyn. She was only four when she needed her first pair of glasses. Everything I found looked too grown-up, too big and too bold for her tiny face and her gentle spirit.
I searched for what seemed like forever for glasses that felt more like her - soft, playful, and full of wonder. I wished for glasses that would make her smile when she slipped them on each morning.
Out of that wish, Once Upon a Charm was born.
I decided to reimagine girls' eyewear for my daughter, of course. But for your daughter, too. For every child who deserves glasses that feel like magic, not compromise.
And with this brand comes a greater mission: to generate awareness that vision is much more than just sight and clarity. It's about the visual skills children need to read, to write, and to thrive in school. According to the American Optometric Association, 1 in 4 children has a vision disorder that impedes their ability to learn and thrive in school. I’m deeply passionate about advocating yearly pediatric / developmental eye exams.

My daughter used to resist wearing glasses, but Once Upon a Charm completely changed that. She switches her charms multiple times a day!
My daughter just started wearing glasses a few months ago, and it was rough at first. Some kids at school made fun of her, and she used to come home in tears. We tried these charms on a whim, and it’s made such a difference. Now the girls in her class always ask what charm she’s wearing that day. Funny enough, she also got her ears pierced recently to help soften the new change of having to wear glasses. But no one asks about her earring, just the charms! These glasses helped her feel confident again.

Charms for the win
My daughter loves her new glasses and charms. She picks a different set every morning. Her best friend got so into it she told her mom she might need glasses too (although she didnt!)! It’s the first time I’ve seen kids excited about wearing glasses. The charms make glasses feel more like fun than a medical thing.
